Tea drinking is safe while you have diabetes?!

Question:

Tea drinking is safe while you have diabetes?

I have diabetes. i want to drink tea often. does it affect me ?

Answers:
i think it might help diabetes, just don't add sugar or honey, or even milk. Drink it straight...you could add artificial sweetener, but I enjoy it straight every time.

Nope...drink it without sugar or with an artificial sweetener.

My father has type 1 Diabetes, he drinks tea once a while, while my grandmother on mom's side family drinks tea frequently and she has Type 2 diabetes, i think it depends which diabetes you have and what kind of insulin you use and how much you require to use each day. Best thing is to ask your Doctor, they know more details about your health also they might have more ideas of which tea to drink/avoid etc...

Hope this is helpful

Yes with tea no with sugar/try using juice instead its good.
Check with your doctor about healthy limits for caffeine.

Good luck & God Bless

The overall evidence is that green tea helps diabetes, but it is far from conclusive.

Study 1

Richard Anderson of BHNRC found that brewed tea, when added to the fat cells of laboratory rats, raises insulin activity by more than 15 times.

This higher insulin activity was found with green, wulong and black tea, regardless of whether caffeinated or decaffeinated.

Study 2

A study conducted by Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center found that brewed tea, when added to the fat cells of laboratory rats, increases insulin activities by more than 15 times.

But green tea also contains caffeine, which may increase the blood sugar level.

Further details can be found in the two links below.

If you must, drink tea cautiously. Hope it helps.
