Anything can go bad, but I'm asking what in the green tea could make it taste foul. Can the brewed leaves itself actually expire?

if anything tastes funny, I certainly would not drink it. When something tastes funny, I think it's your body's way of telling you not to drink something. So I would dump the tea.

One thing about bottled green teas, I read somewhere that they're not as healthy as freshly brewed green teas. Plus if those green teas have sugar, they're not as good for you as the real tea.

anything can go bad

Its an organic product so the natural ingredients just go past their best.
