YES!!!!! It spoils after a few weeks open. Throw that bottle away.
I often use buttermilk in my baking. I've 'freshened' expired buttermilk by adding milk and shaking. Of course, I do then bake the buttermilk and other ingredients at 350 degrees or so, possibly lessening any potential ill effects.
Six Months!!! OMG isn't the smell enough to tell you weather or not it is good.
