I like Caribou as far as franchises go. I prefer independent coffee shops who use organic, locally roasted beans and have trained baristas who understand coffee origins, the elements of cupping, and the skill of making coffee through a variety of methods.
Given your two choices, I'd pick Starbucks.
Starbucks is better but that is in my point of view go order something at Starbucks and order the same thing at borders an then you can choose

All Borders Cafes here have now been turned into Seattle's Best Coffee which is owned by Starbucks. So, here at least, they're basically the same thing.
