Who remembers Corona pop being delivered in glass bottles..??
Corona (may be spelt wrong) used to be delivered to our house and then the man would come and collect the bottles and give us some money back... my dad would do his nut if we broke a bottle..!!

Very well, & I remember the specially fitted lorry's they used. We use to scour the village for empty bottles of any kind, beer bottles to the pub, pop bottles to the shop, and the Coronas to the Corona man.
I remember when a new driver took on, & took a turn up-hill into a farm-drive in the village too fast. We kids were waiting at the top of this hill with bottles, & waiting for him to do his stops. Just about all the load on the outside of the turn peeled off the steps of the lorry! Of course, most of them smashed, & there was a rainbow stream running down the hill!
Dandelion & Burdock & American Cream Soda were my favourites, my brother was an Lemon & Lime drinker.
God yea...he used to drive a lorry like a milk float!
And the Limeade tasted NASTY!
I do! cherryade! fantastic. i really want some now!
yes i remember waiting on a wednesday night for the pop man coming, red cola and dandelion and burdock were my faves and you got 10p back per bottle so i would wait for the ice-cream van and get a 10p mixture.
yea.. good post. we used to put our hands thro the fence at the dairy, pinch the empty corona bottles and then go buy sweets :-O
yes i can remember those, when i was a kid in my home town we had a corona distribution warehouse, and i used to climb over the wall and get the empty bottles and take them back to the shop to get the money. lol
Yep! Good stuff to if I remember rightly
Yes i do! now that's blast from the past and we are all now showing our true age!!!arghhhhh!!! if i remember rightly it was delivered by the milk man and i think it was 10p per bottle and it used to-go towards my pocket money along with collecting aluminium cans for recycling which i think u got 2p a can...oh happy days lol
xx
God yeah, i remember. Those were the days, dandelion and burdoch, cream soda, cherryade!! wish we still got them.
We couldn't afford pop in our 'ouse. Couldn't afford toys niver. If I'd been born a girl I'd have had nothing, at all, to play with....
we were too poor to be able to afford corona pop , but i remember the pop man used to have a wagon an he used to park it front of our house then go next door
yes i remember it well, and in some parts of wales they still do deliver pop. my son lived in Swansea for awhile and had his pop delivered but now days its not just pop, they also carry sweets cakes and all the little things that you would just pass by in the supermarket.
oh wow! that takes me back ooooh cherryade,
I do unfortunately
Your spelling's right but it wasn't delivered. Obviously you're not as old as me. We had R White's ( if we were lucky!). Corona was the new boy on the block. 2d back on the bottles!
yes it was the best pop.and i remember keeping the empties, for money back, what ever happened to them.and do you remember tizer a redish drink.
It's frothy man! or Every bubble has passed it's Fizzical!
yes we had them aswell and also Alpine they were in bigger bottles.
I remember it well!! I used to wait at the bottom of our lane for the lorry to arrive - dandelion and burdock and american cream soda being favourites.
Can't remember the price in those days - must be my age!!
I remember!! They tasted well nice, didn't they??? I remember standing at the door as well, didn't understand anything, just remember the drinks tasting top!!!!
yes, it was great - i was allowed to collect all the corona bottles and return them when the corona man came. That was my pocket money! He used to come every friday evening so i'd go all round the neighbours (competing with the other kids!!) to collect as many as i could) one week i earnt a £1 - it was after xmas tho!
YES!!!!! lol this made me laugh. There were four children in my family and we were all allowed to get a bottle out of our pocket money. I loved cream soda. We all recycled then didn't we because we got money back. I'm 43 by the way, and I'm not sure when they stopped.
corona use to have a depot in bradford west yorkshire ,i started work for them when i left school in1973, i worked as a drivers mate delivering to peoples homes and to shops .their biggest seller was cream soda.
