How do I mail / ship a coffee maker without damage?!

Question:

How do I mail / ship a coffee maker without damage?

I need to mail one to someone, it is in original box. Can I just wrap it then ship it? Or do I have to put it in another box to ship to prevent any damage?

Answers:
I would wrapped it well in bubblewrap and put it in the center of a larger box on and covered in lots of paper. The UPS Store can do it for you at a reasonable price too.

just ship it as is, but get insurance from the shipping company

Pack it in a box... y taking risk?? ...

stirofoam that comes in the orignal packaging

take it to the UPS store and have them package it for you

Bubble Wrap....Could be interesting to wrap you up in it also and ship you over to my house...

O I'd luv to give you a little pop! :o)

leave it in the same box then buy a box a little bigger then bubble wrap the coffee maker and set it into the bigger box then tape and ship. it will be another dollar or two more cause of weight~

You will DEFINITELY need to double package it. Those containers that you find in the store are for display purposes only and will never hold up under the abuse that the shipping system would dish out.

Find a box that is about 3x bigger than the original box, and get LOTS of packing peanuts or similar packing materials that won't mash down. And use PLENTY of tape (clear packing or reinforced paper are the best).

Alternately, you could take it to a place that packs and ships for you. And be absolutely sure to insure....

If the carafe is stainless steel , shipping with a second box should be OK
BUT if it is glass , even double packing will be very risky . . .
It would be much smarter to send them a gift card so they can pick one up (unbroken) at a local store.
Shipping anything glass is NOT a good idea unless the glass item is packed in lots of bubble wrap .

with fedex they sell insurance in case it is damaged
