Question:

Drinking soda it's bad for your teeth but is it bad for your brain???

Answers:
Soda pop is not a healthy choice any way you take it. Sodas with sugar are, naturally, bad for your teeth, not to mention the affect it has on weight gain. Sodas also can have too much carbonation and sodium. Sodas that are "dark", such as Pepsi, Coke, etc., also deplete your body of magnesium, which in turn raises blood pressure. As another answerer stated, diet sodas with "Nutra-Sweet", or the chemicals Aspartame, seem to have affected a number of people over the years, leading to blindness, memory loss, and other health problems. It is not recommended you drink diet soda if it is warm, as this seems to bring about these negative results (according to a study I read a few years ago). Saccharin, another artificial sweetener, has also been linked to cancer in some test animals. It is my personal bane that the F.D.A. has allowed Aspartame to enter the food market. It is obvious the makers of Aspartame and food companies have paid off the F.D.A.; payola, anyone? Personally speaking, I used to drink a lot of caffeinated sodas, and did a lot of damage to my teeth. I have had extensive dental work over the years, and my weight was also affected. I recommend trying your best to eliminate soda pops from your diet. IF you have to drink something sweet, I do recommend trying Ginger Ale. Schweppe's Ginger Ale, esp. the Raspberry flavored is very good. It is low in sugar, low in sodium. Some other brands of Ginger Ale, such as Canada Dry are particularly good. Cheap sodas seem to have more sugar than other brands, so stay away from these. Try mixing Cranberry juice with Club Soda (which is sugar and sodium free), or water with slices of lemon. Lipton makes a great tasting Green Tea with Citrus, and is caffeine free, very low sugar and low sodium. Celestial Seasonings makes caffeine free teas, and taste great iced. Many flavors to choose from. It is difficult to kick the soda habit, but try to limit what you drink. Good Luck.

Seems these days everything is bad for our health. Soda in general is not so good because of all the sugar in it. However, in diet soda there is sugar substitute called aspartame where there is an on going debate weather is causes brain tumors or not. There is a new soda called Izze which is all natural and tastes really good!

No, soda is not bad for your brain. I know a lot of smart people that drink a lot of soda and it hasn't affected them.

Your brain will receive the pain signals from your damaged teeth, so in a way it is bad for your brain. I recommend a single serving of soda a week if you want a healthy diet. Your brain relies on your other body parts to function, a healthy lifestyle will help improve its ability to handle sugar laced sodas!

It is made from wood grain alcohol. It rots your brain and makes you fat. http://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/...
