Milk and Tea?!
Milk and Tea?
I heard that milk and tea neutralize each other. So, If you drink tea after milk you will not get maximum benefits and vice versa. Should I drink tea in the morning and milk at night, to get enough nutrients? And does this mean that milk&tea has no actual use for our bodies except for its taste?
Answers:
Yeah, your body wont absorb much calcium if taken with tea. Same with fruit juices for its vitamin C. Best have your tea in the evenings, hours apart from the rest.
now where do you heard that?
I am a doctor(psychiatrist) and my mother is a nutritionist, so i been raised all my life on a good diet. I asked my mom if tea and milk neutralize each other, and she said that they not. Milk is one of the full aliments(like meat and eggs) and tea is a easy aliment. Is better to drink tea in the morning because is a energizing, and is better to drink milk in the evening because it help you get to sleep.
Milk has calcium and other minerals, and tea has vitamins, you can drink them whenever you want, in what order you like!!!!
People drink milk in their tea only to please a long dead king of England. When tea was introduced into England the king owned a very large dairy herd and tea sounded like competition, so he decreed that it was OK to drink tea provided it was taken with milk.
Never heard that tea & milk were on opposite sides of the fence,I am grateful to the King of England , as suggested by one answer, I love my tea with milk & so do many others.Milk is a great nourishing drink for all ages & in all climates, the quantity added to a cup of tea however is not likely to make a lot of difference ,nutrition or healthwise.I think you should have your 'cuppa' the way you like it & just when you enjoy it most.
