Can we do something and use the salty sea water for drinking?

Answers:
the Navy has been doing it for many years, that is how they have fresh water when at sea. It is called evaporation, and is very expensive.

You can (and we do). You just need a purification system that removes the saline.

yes, its called desalination.

check out this website:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/desalinatio...

It's called reverse osmosis. You can buy personal systems or GE will install global solutions.

You can:
1. pass it though a simple reverse osmosis plant - only pure water gets through the special filter or membrain, it is pushed through by pumping through excess sea water, needing a back pressure to force the water though the filter, the continual flow is necessary to ensure the salt level on sea water does not rise too high.
2.cover it with a sheet of clear plastic & collect the drops of pure water that condense on the underside of the sheet.

you can distil the salt out

Definitely we can do something!!! According to studies we just have to use procedure that is simple like filtering it or boiling the sea water and let the salt evaporates..Dividing the salt from the sea water..That we can also use the salt and the water when it undergo a separation process..

Yes, it's call desalinization, a process which buy sea water is "de-salinized" or de-salted.
