What is the difference between 'cappuccino' and 'latte'?
Answers:
Cappuccino is espresso with a mixture of steamed hot milk and foamed milk.
Latte doesn't use foam just twice the steamed milk so it tastes heavier and milkier.
A cap has more lavor of the espresso because the foam is light, but definitely not as intense.
A macchiato will taste even more intense, as it is espresso with just a touch of foam on it. Not to be confused with the sugary thing Starbucks calls a macchiato (and is not).
If you were to walk into Starbucks and ask for a:
Cappuccino: You would get espresso, half steamed milk and half foam. It would be a light drink, because the foam takes up the majority of the drink. If you wanted it lighter, you could ask for a "dry cappuccino" or heavier: a "wet cappuccino" . The espresso will be stronger tasting in this drink.
Latte: You would get espresso, steamed milk to the top with a quarter inch of foam or so, depending on the barista. It's a heavier drink, with a lot more milk. Unless you asked for no foam, which you would receive no foam, or if you asked for heavy foam, you would receive extra foam, but not more than what a cappuccino would give you.
