You’ve got lots of opportunities to get heartburn over the holidays, so it’s only right that we give you tips on why it happens and how to relieve it. First, know what you’re dealing with: Heartburn occurs when stomach acid splashes back up into your esophagus, causing a burning sensation in your chest. Fried, fatty foods and big meals produce more stomach acid, so it’s more likely that acid will splash back up. When the burn hits, try these easy fixes:

*Chew each mouthful thoroughly so it’s easier to digest. A good trick: Put your fork down between bites and swallow before picking it up again. It’s painstaking, but a great way to be mindful about every bite.

*Take a walk after eating. Light activity helps your stomach empty faster.

*Drink slippery ELM BARK tea with dinner (check your local health food stores). It will coat the lining of your esophagus, making it less sensitive to the acid.

green tea helps with mostly anything

Mint and chamomile

no 'tea' is really helpful with heartburn, you can brew any tea very light and have that but the best thing for heartburn is plain cold milk.

Peppermint

mint tea is good

try any tea without caffeine. That caffeine can't be good for your heartburn. that way, you can reap the benefits without the caffeine. Some herbal teas like chamomile also have a calming effect and come naturally decaffeinated. good luck on your heartburn.

well i know this works well, get a chinese tea pot and make apple tea , it helps for heartburn and digestion!!!!!!!!

My husband suffers with GERD (like acid reflux) and my daughter (who is a manager at Starbucks) brings him their brand called "Calm" tea. He drinks it hot and it does seem to help.
