Where do you do your shopping-supermarkets or local retailers?!

Question:

Where do you do your shopping-supermarkets or local retailers?

Lidl supermarkets are very reasonably priced with good quality products

Answers:
I'd personally prefer to do my shopping at local independant shops - butchers, greengrocers and similar, but due to present circumstances I'm not able to.

For the most part I'm unable to leave the house, so I do my shopping on line. I've found Tesco to be the best delivery service - a few minor problems but they always do their best to rectify them.

I'd love to be able to support local retailers, hopefully one day I'll be able to - I find the fresh produce at the little shops to be much better quality.

I've been to lidl a few times and they do have some bargains. There aren't as many Lidl, Netto or Aldi type shops down south - I used to have a Netto within walking distance when I lived up North, and they had some good value products.

i shop some of the week in my local town to support all the local buisnesses but is expensive so do get the bulk from my local morrisons 13 miles away , i cant afford to buy everything local as it is more expensive .

I buy veg and fruit from my local grocers,i buy pork from my local pork farmer, and any other meat from the butchers.Anything else i go to adsa for, such as tinned products cleaning products.
I make my own bread, cakes, biscuits, jam, and pies etc.Oh, and fish from the local fish market.

Both.

Both. I get the bulk of my shopping from Tesco but on a Saturday, I visit my local shops for things like farm eggs, pet food, etc. I believe you must support local shops where you can.

I have been there but now i have moved an my nearest is in town so i do a bit of both go to supermarkets an use my local shops for bread an milk .

LIDL is crap! they have the worst products you can think of! I do my shopping in Waitrose and have to say that the food there is great, very high standards, and the service is always good, even when returning goods.

I do the majority of my shopping at the supermarket but then if I just need something very quickily I will use the local retailers. But the local ones for obvious reasons are more expensive and the supermarket isn't that far away

I buy most of my weekly shopping at the local supermarket.
I find them excellent value for money, and you can get everything under one roof. Plus you can always get parked easy. Most of our local retailers charge the earth for the most basic things...just last week they were charging £1.20p for a tin of baked beans. I am only loyal to my purse, it takes ages to earn my money so I do not give it away.

Asda for main shop then local spar for bits during week.
Asda is good. loads of choice reasonably priced and staff are helpful.

Asda or Tesco - I alternate between the 2 as they are both close to where I live......

All the local butchers and fruit and veg shops have closed near me, so I have no choice really. It's a shame like....

I shop in all the major supermarkets also aldi`s and lidel`s
I like to buy my bread from a local baker but its so expensive to do food shopping in a local corner shop

Supermarket. I have to go for the best prices at this time. I have a lot of mouths to feed.

Super Wal-Mart's produce is TERRIBLE!!!! Very limited and not good quality looking produce, but as for everything else in the aisle's at Wal-mart, they are reasonably priced. I like independent grocers at times for certain things, and I shop at Jewel and Dominick's because I live in the midwest (Illinois). However, they are very high retailers.

local independent retailers is just as cheap as supermarkets with more variety, freshness, seasonality, and your supporting local produce and suppliers. so shop in your independents, supermarkets are false, money-grabbing hypocrites

Supermarkets becuase you have more variety . Especially morrisons thats where I shop - you cant go wrong there

I nearly always do my food shopping in Tesco. It's affordable and I can shop at my convenience. I often don't finish work until 8pm so being able to shop after work is a bonus (plus the stores are quiet!).

I try to buy most of my stuff from local retailers and markets.
