In the early turn on the century when regrigeration became popular, we exploited the new technology, as we are always apt to do. Restaurants found that the colder a drink the less you can taste how bad the water is. We got used it. Now restaurants use ice to cut costs by watering down drinks as much as possible to avoid over use of beverage products. In America we are a bunch of rubes...
no. most of them have been knocked out by 'ard english hooligans.

hay Im american but I hate too much ice in my drinks
I believe that resteraunts are cheap so they put like 80%

everywhere I go.
It's very hot in a lot of the states here. Where I live we get into the triple digits and have to run the central air conditioner almost year round. I have been in Europe and not having much ice didn't bother me because I was not in my usual hot climate. I am from the South and it's hot in the Summer. I was brought up drinking sweetened, iced tea.

The others are correct when they say restaurants use so much to cut down on the amount of soda they put in a glass. I myself, an american born and bred, like a lot of ice when it is hot out, but just a little when it isn't hot.
its nast ythe soda gets all watery
simple ice is cheaper than the drink.
I live in CAlifornia we mostly like a lot of ice because it is always hot. I don't have sensitive teeth cause I'm use to it.
maybe some people like it because it adds volume to their drinks without adding any calories (ice = frozen water), so it may help those who want to watch their calorie intake. When the ice melts they'll get back more volume to their drink without the extra calories. Also, maybe some people want to cool down after a workout or dancing or something.
I personally don't mind a small amount of ice in my drink but I can't stand too much of it...sensitive teeth, definitely.
WE DONT PUT ALOT AND WE LIKE OUR DRIKS COLD.
Not me..I like it to help melt down the drink and water into my system especially soda
no my teeth aren't sensitive and i like ice and i like my drinks really cold...plus they made straws for americans with sensitive teeth.
