It's kind of fun to crack open a fake bottle of wine on New Year's instead of juice boxes...
They drink it because they like the taste of wine, but they don't want to consume alcohol for various reasons.
Adults don't want to act "immature"

it's not non-alcoholic wine --It's sparking cider. Carbination is added . Its more like non-alcholic champagne. Cool to open the bottle and hear the pop and fizz. Kids like it! It thought it was neat when I was a kid, but now I drink the real thing!
It still tastes like wine
people drink it for the taste.
