I'm aware that they are still available in some areas. I just want to know about what time they began phasing out.

Maybe I'm not being specific enough. Let me rephrase my question: What year did they stop making the 1 liter glass bottles? Answer again if you want.

I think for Coke, they only discontinued its original green glass bottles around the 1980s. Pepsi discontinued nearly all of its glass bottles around the same time. However, many regional soda factories still use glass bottles. You can find IBC root beer/cream soda and Jones' in glass bottles.

maybe 78' just a guess

they still make glass bottles for some.

It has NOT completely disappeared all together. you can still get coke, and others in non-returnable glass bottles. Bottles began phasing out aound the late 1970 thru the early 1980';s in my area, which is Louisiana.

I can buy Coke in glass bottles at my grocery store

I think 2 years ago. ?^-^?

I can still buy Dr Peper in glass bottles in Wichita Kansas, in other countries like Mexico you can still buy all your favorite pops on Glass bottler

They haven't

We were still buying 16 oz. Pepsi in 8 packs up till about 2 years ago in a gas station in Ft. Madison, IA. I called and asked Pepsi and they said that only ones they sell glass bottles to is mainly hotels.
