Why is hip hop such a main point for Sprite Advertisements?!

Question:

Why is hip hop such a main point for Sprite Advertisements?

Are they making a mockery of the African American Culture? What are their ads seeking out to do?

Answers:
I haven't seen any sprite ads recent, but hip-hop is current popular music. Advertisers always want to use what is current. When grunge was popular all the commercials used images of people in mosh pits.

idk but i think theyre trying to make it more mordern and i guess ppl like hip hop these days

they apparently think their main consumer likes that kind of music. and considering hip hop dominates musics top charts, they likely believe that their main consumer is also of the demographic that drives musics charts.

they may also be targeting the black community and the best way to figure that out is by looking where they advertise, who is in their ads, what channels they advertise on (BET would be good indication) etc.

it wouldnt be good business to mock a culture that could potentially make them rich, so no, they arent doing that. are you too sensitive perhaps? i think so.

Soda advertising is aimed at kids and kids like that kind of music.

more than 60% of people today like hip hop besides hip hop has a fast beat perfect for dancing while rock doesnt

Sprite want to marketing on a target group - the young people, and want people to feel that they are also young when they drink
Sprite.

good question. i guess that they are trying to aim towards that audince.

they want to attract younger buyers so that all through their life they will like sprite
