Best way to brew green tea for iced tea?!

Question:

Best way to brew green tea for iced tea?

Bought a box of Lipton green tea bags to make iced tea with, what method do you use for the best green iced tea?

Answers:
It is important that green tea be brewed in hot (but not boiling water) to retain the most antioxidants. Use double the number of recommended tea bags. For 32 ounces, this would mean that you would use 32 ounces of hot water and 8 tea bags (assuming the recommendation is 1 tea bag per 8 oz and you are using 2). Green tea does not need to steep very long. Usually only 2-3 minutes or whatever the recommendation is on your package. Add suger, honey, or other sweetner to the hot tea.

Once the steeping is over, then remove the tea bags. Squeeze the hot tea bags between two forks to get the last good tea juice out. The add about 20 oz of cold water and a couple handfuls of ice cubes. The ice cubes will melt to make up the remaining 12 oz. Stir this all together and put in the fridge. You should have 64 oz of green iced tea to enjoy.

No personal experience with this, but I'd assume it would be the same way as brewing regular tea for iced tea.

Tea should be brewed in hot water. If tea bags are put "in the sun" in a water jug bacteria also grow in the water. Refrigerate the tea after it is brewed.

i get the celestial seasonings green tea...

I put 2 cups into the teakettle

after it is ready, i put it into acontainer and steep 4 bags and add splenda or stevia as my sweetner so it doesn't affect the blood sugar amt as much..

then i add 2 cups of water OR i put in 1 cup with a tray of ice so that it cools off faster in a blender...it mixes the sweetner and the tea and cools it off all in one..

if you want a near gallon...then put in 7 cups of water into the teakettle and do the same...only instead of adding 7 cups of water, use 3 icetrays and add 2-4 cups of cold water,

the 7 cups is already 56 oz...with the ice and water...you should be just under 120 oz (128oz=1gal) and that should last you quite a while...but with that..you need to steep 6-8 teabags with all that and be careful to not dilute it too much...

Lipton might have their own way of making iced tea, but the Celestial Seasonings method is simply this. Heat water just before it begins to boil. Add 1 cup of this hot water to 4 celestial seasonings tea bags. Let it steep for 1-3 minutes. Add sweetener if desired. take the tea bags out, and add 3 cups of cold water to the concentrated tea mixture.

Serve over ice. Why use twice as many tea bags? Iced tea shouldn't be stronger for any reason..Just my opinion.

DONT KNOW...DONT CARE!!!!!!!
