Question:

Should shops be allowed to sell to under 16 year olds red bull????

my 9 year old buys it.i keep telling him not too.but you know what they're like.i think they shouldn't be allowed to buy it.what do you think???

Answers:
Anything that is not recommended for children, the elderly or pregnant women, should have more restrictions on who can purchase it.

I totally agree with you. They don't understand the ingredients, they just like the tv ads.

Red Bull is illegal in Denmark and Sweden because it has never been tested conclusively for harmful effects

Nope! Under sixteens are hyper enough without cranking up the crazy on red bull (i think red bull is disgusting, anyone who has travelled home on the last train and sat next to a drunk chucking up vodka and red bull will never drink the stuff again, not a nice experience!)

I see nothing wrong with it, there is no alcoholic affect and in my opinion no effect at all. No worries love.

maybe not.. cause of the high caffeine ?

I agree this product should be treated as if it were alchol. It is dangerous when consumed in quantities. If you look into it the manufacturer advises against drinking more than two tins in a day and it recommends you do not drink it with alcohol. Not very many people know this. It is believed by many medical experts that the taurin in the red bull can cause interruptions to the normal beating of the heart and palpitations. This is the reason that the drink is band in many countries.

I don't think it would be a good idea for the fact that their body is already major stress due to hormones, added energy to that could really run the child down or things of the like. I'm 20 and I stay away from them, they give me panic attacks... most energy I allow myself is a can of Mountain Dew Code Red. :)

What about coffee? Same amount of caffeine as a strong coffee. Nanny syndrome is bad enough without that getting banned as well.

I agree that children shouldnt be drinking the stuff but i dont think they would be able to set an age limit at 16 because not all 16 year olds have a drivers license to prove there age and it would creating alot more more for the sellers of the product. I think its more up to the parents to watch that there children arent drinking the stuff if they dont want them to.

it shouldn't be allowed to sell it to anyone . that stuff stinks .!!
when someone drinks it and breaths on you it makes me want to vomit!!

no too much caffeine

No it makes them hyper

Yes they should be allowed to buy it, its not an alcoholic beverage. You are the one that has to control what your son buys.

yes this AMERICA,,,there no alcahol init lady jees,,,i know you have your motherly love concerns but take a breath and relax there no more caffine than a mt dew and your give your kid a complex

Maybe under 12s shouldn't be able to buy things like that, but making 16 the age when you can buy Red Bull is stupid. What is your reasoning behind this? I'm 16 now and it didn't have any negative effects on me when I was 14 or 15. I think you should have better control of your son.

I work for sainsbury's and we have restricted it to over 16 - much to the frustration of the local school kids. I think it may have turned them into junkies, the arguments they have over it are quite intense!

That is up to you to decide whether your kid can drink Red Bull. The stores should not be regulated in your favor.

Absolutely not! If I were you I would put a stop to your nine yr old drinking it! I'm no expert but there's a reason that people drink it when they want a quick pick-me-up! Don't they have an age limit printed on the can? If not then they should...
