Why are soda's called soft drinks?
Answers:
some call them pop, it's because no alcohol
Because they're not "hard" liquor
because alcohol is called hard drinks.
Hard drink = alcoholic.
Soft drink = non-alcoholic.
Because they don't have alcohol.
well soft drinks make your bones soft, so I heard. I guess
they used to come from soda sountains
soft drinks used to be called NO CAL beverage
and were originally "medicines"
they tingly and have carbonated water and sugar and so many stuff..
Answer's true: Soft drinks because they are non-alcoholic; Booze is referred to as Hard Liquor--as in "Hard Knocks"--because it Packs a Punch (a Wallop!)...Soda--on the other hand--is not considered to alter one's personality after consumption [if you skip the SUGAR EFFECT it has on children...ü] and there's no Breathilizer requirement for consuming high quantities...although I'd personally caution against consumption of High Fructose Corn Syrup....good luck!
they people below me answered it just the way i was gonna ;)
Because they are not alcoholic, or containing "hard" liqour. The opposite of hard=soft. My boyfriend finally made this connection just last week after 20 years of life.
because they're not "hard" or "adult" alcoholic beverages.
A soft drink is a drink that does not contain alcohol, as opposed to a hard drink, which does. In general, the term is used only for cold beverages. (Hot chocolate, tea, and coffee are not considered soft drinks. Carbonated milk would probably not be considered a soft drink.) The term originally referred exclusively to carbonated drinks, and is still commonly used in this manner.
Soft drinks contain no alcohol in them. Alcohol makes the drinks "hard."
cuz alchohol iz called hard drinks...smart one
