Is iced tea a good replacement for water?!

Question:

Is iced tea a good replacement for water?

I drink a lot of iced tea. Can I count it towards my 8 daily glasses of water I'm supposed to drink? Does it matter if it's caffinated or not?

Answers:
Yes, it will count.

Also, don't sweat about the 8 glasses of water a day.
That's just a myth that keeps getting perpetuated by "health experts".

Just drink what you enjoy and when you're thirsty.

I think you can count it against your 'water' intake, but not totally. The idea is to drink something healthy without additives, flavoring, sugar, sugar subsitute, etc.

So if your ice tea is green-tea, no sugar, no other flavorings, I think you are fine. But do mix water in at least every other time.

No. There is no replacement for water.

Water should be your primary drink every day.

Tea contains caffeine which is a diuretic, a substance that makes you pee off water faster. Three-fourths water mixed with one fourth real juice is better. Tea has many benefits, though, but, its diuretic quality needs to be considered.

you can count tea as water if you put no additives however tea does have caffeine
sometimes more than coffee or chocolate
but green tea doesn't have as much ca fine and green tea has anti-toxins that really help clean your system and digestive tract

yes, it will add to your water intake. caffine may make u pee alot

Yes it will coun toward your water intake. I think that its diuretic effect will be outweighed by its anti-oxidant value.

yes it can be but get, caffine free tea. and use sweet n low, or other sugar subsitute

no better drink than good ole h20

no. 8 glasses of iced tea whole day because it will just cause u some health problems like diabetis or urinary tract infection
u must drink 8 glasses of water everydeay or else..........
health problems may occur.
it matters because u will pee harder than drinking water

but i did not say u will stop from drinking iced tea

yes, you can count it in the 8 but a glass of ice tea may equal half a glass of water. Depends on the tea. Tea is a better replacement compared to coffee, soda, milk, & others.
