Can I economically make my own soda?!

Question:

Can I economically make my own soda?

A 12-pack of soda of Coke or Pepsi products is starting to get expensive (2L bottle prices are going up too). I want to make my own, BRAND NAME, soda. For example, I'd like to own a soda machine that you might happen to find in a Burger King or other fast food restaurant.

Can you please tell me where to purchase the equipment & supplies and then give me a cost breakdown?

I remember a few years ago at the State Fair some guy was selling a machine to make your own soda. I've looked online and they have a machine - but it's not brand name syrup and its pretty darn expensive.

This is not feasible, it is too costly.

head down to you local food provaier's outlet store (this would be like Noble-SYSCO not COSTCO) or "smart and final" you can buy soda syrups, name brand, there. Now you need to contract with you local gas dealer (helium, CO2) because you are gonna need CO2 tanks. In the short run you will be spending 2-3 times what you are at the store for bottles. In the long run, privite use, just doesn't make any since, the set up along will cost you several hundred dollars. In my oppinion, if you are thinking about the cost of 2 lts, you are drinking too much soda. To cut costs you could, buy one of those big, refillable cups that the convenence stores sell and drink gallons of soda for 25 cents per refill or DRINK MORE WATER. water doesn't have the nasty side affects that soda has. No calories, low in salts and no sugar or artificial colors or flavoring.
When you drink soda, your body has to treat it like food, digesting it wo get the water out. To much soda causes, bladder infections, kiddney stones, dehydration and insulin problems. Drinking water helps flush out toxins, fat and bad fluids from your body.
