Tea is a national drink and is used widely in Ireland. There is a ritual about making it that would put the Japs to shame. Coffee is also widely used but tea is what we all want when get home. The tea is usually Indian, it is normally had for breakfast and hot sweet tea is usually given to someone in shock.

The Irish drink all the usual brand's that everyone drink ,it is drank 'hot '.There is no mystery about Irish people they are the same as any other nation.

It's called breakfast tea; it's strong and of good quality. the most famous brands are Lyons tea and Barry's tea, both do a Gold Label style which is the top of the range. There is also Bewleys tea, which can be bough loose. as leaves rather than tea bags; their "breakfast " tea is superb. It's made by pouring boiling WATER OVER THE LEAVES OR BAGS AND LEAVING IT TO "DRAW" IN A WARM PLACE FOR FIVE MINUTES.
the taste is personal; most people have tea with milk and /or sugar. Some people like weak tea, but it's at it's best after "drawing" for five minutes.
