actually i beg to differ. Just to correct a previous answer, taurine and caffeine are not hormones, Taurine is an additive that is used to help you absorb fat into your body so that you can break it down for more of an energy boost. All those B vitamins and caffeine encourage your body (if you will) to break down such things as fats and sugars, some energy drinks promote the break down of proteins too. So this is why they might be seen as a weight loss suppliment. In a 20 year study it was shown that caffeine does not cause heart attacks, and it is very good at "waking up" the brain. Now for the bad news, with increase metabolic activity comes increase oxidative stress which is harmful to your whole body, and why the word Antioxidants are getting such attention. Along with oxidative stress you are depleting minerals such as calcium, sodium and potassium, but not in very dangerous amounts. Their are other things too that could be contested about energy drinks, but i do not feel they are all that bad.

Energy drinks is packed with caffeine and taurine (hormone) and they are terrible for you. Both of these substances are just part of what inside it. They will dehydrate you and with the amount of sugar inside these drinks, you will be gaining weight if you are not careful.

they are horrible for your heart! they make it pound really fast. i mean one drink every once in a while is ok.

don't drink them ,they are maybe harmful . it is better to use natural foods.
