FACTS!

Cappucino is usually a single shot of espresso with heated / foamed milk. Because they usually use a darker roast of beans for espresso, you would think that there is more caffeine than in a regular cup of coffee.

But actually, because the hot water is pressed through the grounds relatively quickly, the caffeine level in a shot of espresso is about equal, or even a little less, than in a cup of coffee. Bummer, huh?

So, sure, it usually tests pretty good, and the foam is pretty. But you can save a few bucks and just go with the joe.

As stated it is a darker roast, but also tends to be an African bean, from Ethopia or Sudan, an arabica bean, the grind is important to, as Greek and Turkish coffees are very fine grind to, be not as fully roasted.

As the first person stated it is steamed more than the water actually passing through the coffee, and is much higher temparture than drip or perked coffees, there is not more caffiene in Espresso or Cappicino, it is just the concentration of coffee to milk or not and if you choose to use sugar, that is what invokes the buzz in the morning, I was in Germany and in most European counrtys they like a strong make you situp ant take notice cup of coffee in the morning.

All my years as a chef in Canada I would experiment and try different combinations, one place had a grinder unit like the doughnut shops, so I snuck in some different beans and tried to see if anyone notice, for that month we sold 4X more coffee.

Cappuccino is about 7 bucks, where coffee tends to be about 3. Capp has more milk/sugar, and is much more fattening. Coffee (black) has no calories. Capp is made from expresso, but coffee is its own drink.
