Why do both Pepsi & Coca-Cola sell Dr. Pepper?!

Question:

Why do both Pepsi & Coca-Cola sell Dr. Pepper?

If Pepsi & Coca-Cola are rivals why do they sell the same product?

Answers: Dr pepper is a individual company not owned by either. They may be canned by coke or pepsi depending on the area but both companies have contracts with dr pepper for the canning and selling rights. Source(s):
I asked a coca-cola repair man while he was fixing our fountians WHY do they even sell Dr Pepper?
It takes like ****,it really does. they both don't sell it, one sells Dr. Pepper and the other sells Mr. Pibb. i got in the biggest fight with my cousin because of this.
she said that it was a coca cola product and i said it wasent
neither Coca cola or pepsi sell dr pepper. itz on itz own. Cutemum is right, I don't like Dr Pepper either.
Good question though, they shouldn't both sell the same product! Dr Pepper is a caramel-colored, carbonated soft drink marketed in North America by Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages (CSAB), a unit of Cadbury Schweppes. The headquarters of CSAB are situated in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. The ownership of the trademark varies in other countries, although most non-U.S. territories are controlled by The Coca-Cola Company.

Pibb Xtra (previously sold as Mr PiBB) is a carbonated soft drink marketed by The Coca-Cola Company. Why do they sell it at all....its the worst drink i've ever tasted...blaaahhh! Its all about the marketing and making money This is the time of competition and people compete pepsi and coca cola in ignorance of knowing that both are sold by the same person. This philosophy is known by Dr Pepper, So , both Pepsi and Coca-Cola is sold by him. It's just an individual company. Cadbury Schweppes owns Dr. Pepper, but it is distributed by their company (via 7Up), along with Pepsi and Coke. It just depends on who has the distribution right for the area. I know, it makes no sense, and seems kinda silly, but it's true. Coca-Cola sells mr. pibb In the United States, Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages does not have a complete network of bottlers and distributors, so the drink is sometimes bottled under contract by Coca-Cola or Pepsi bottlers. have u ever heard of Pepsi-Cola?
