Is drinking too much chamomile tea bad for you?!

Question:

Is drinking too much chamomile tea bad for you?

My bf and I have been having an arguement about this for a week now. You see i have bad nausea and chamomile tea is the only thing that makes me feel better (aside from nexium - I have acid reflux). I drink about 4 cups of chamomile per night on average. I work overnight shift so instead of eating, I drink the tea.

Maybe there's a herbalist out there with an opinion to help.

Answers: Side effect of Chamomile Tea:
If you suffer from allergies to plants of the Compositae family (a large group including such flowers as daisies, ragweed, asters and chrysanthemums), you may wish to be cautious about using chamomile at first. While there have been isolated reports of allergic reactions, causing skin rashes and bronchial constriction, most people can use this herb with no problem.

Chamomile offers many benefits -- it has a long history of use as both a medicinal herb and a tea. In fact, chamomile has an impressive pedigree backed up by medical research, and is understood to help a variety of conditions. Chamomile can be used safely for a long period of time to nurture the nervous system, among other systems of the body. Source(s):
http://www.chinatownconnection.com/herba... no it's very healthy for you. your sinuses and such. no, drink as much as you want. it soothes the stomach, has antiseptic qualities, helps heal smaal scrapes, and can be used as a rinse for blond hair. I'm no herbalist, but chamomile tea can't be ad,4 cups is nothing,to what I used to drink Diet coke (4-7 liters) a day when i was a kid..and diet coke is pure chemistry!
NEVER MIX TEA WITH ICECREAM NEVER EVER EVER!!!!(When it get's mixed alot,u get rocks in kidneys (don't know how to put it in English) and it's a very painfull operation!!)
(I know this isn't real answer to your question, just a personal opinion, but i hope it helps!) Unless you're allergic to it, or you're pregnant, it doesn't have any ill side effects. For some reason, it's not good for pregnant women.
