How long can milk stay fresh when left out?!

Question:

How long can milk stay fresh when left out?

We forgot to take our milk out of the milk box this morning and it's been sitting in the milk box for about 6-8 hours. When I felt the milk carton it was significantly cold, almost as if it were taken right out of the refrigerator. Is the milk safe to drink?

Answers: Smell it. If it has soured, you'll know. We leave our milk out for about 2-3 hours every morning, while various household members use if for coffee. It lasts about 4-5 days this way.
It's nonsense that it will spoil in one hour, unless the milk was really not at all fresh to begin with. Even if it is somewhat spoiled, chances are good that it would not make you sick. No. Milk left out for over an hour spoils. You should never leave milk out too long and throw it away 2 days before its expiration date because if you dont it can give you food poisoning if over an hour it will spoil Yes it just won't stay fresh as long (meaning it will go bad before the expiration date). If it is whole milk it will last longer than if it was skim or low-fat (I don't know why) Yes, it is safe to drink if it was really cool to the touch. If the milk was sorta kinda not really cold or warm....yeah don't even test it. Or if you want to test it, find someone you don't get along with in the house and offer them a glass. The results of this should tell you a lot about the milk. Personally, i wouldn't use it still.

Just if it looks safe to use, why not?

Hope that helped a bit.

xx milk is safely drunk out like 3-4 hour and even then i wouldn't drink it
because of the parturation it has chemicls that don't do well outside I personally wouldn't want to drink it but if you still just want to keep it call your local grocery store and talk to the guy in the dairy department it can advice better , cause in this hot weather milk just don't last for long. !!! if it was still cool, drink it yes Smell it. If it has a sour smell I say dump it. If it doesn't, taste it.
If it even tastes a little weird dump it.
I think if it was still cold it might be okay.
Still it might be bad. at least 1hr. after that milk will spoil.
