What does Kefir taste like? and will it make me retch?
im thinking it sounds like a laugh to grow my own Kefir and at the same time help my digestive system lead a long and happy life...but is it disgusting?? the people who sell it use clever language like 'refreshing and eventually moreish but is an aquired taste'.....are they trying to tell me something? does it taste like sour milk left on the window sill on a summers day?

Yoghurty is probably the nearest taste - and it has a slightly fizzy feel as it is fermented and has a low level of alcohol. I found it most palatable when I added a small amount of blackcurrant cordial, but it needs to be consumed quite quickly if you add fruit juice as it tends to "thicken". If you like natural yoghurt you will find kefir similar in taste
