Answers:

We often think of blenders as appliances to whip up sweet things, not savory ones. I'll offer a savory (non-sweet) idea to get you going. (This assumes that you like cauliflower and/or broccoli...but if not, experiment with other vegetables with the same idea in mind.)

1) Steam a head of cauliflower (or broccoli) until it is tender. Drain. LET IT COOL.

2) Add half of the COOLED veggie to your blender with enough chicken stock to keep the blender fluidly "pureeing."

3) Add a couple pinches of black pepper and a "small" palm of grated parmesan cheese. (YOU CAN LEAVE OUT THE CHEESE COMPLETELY. Parm offers a lot of flavor in small quantities. Or try a dried herb blend you like in it's place. I like McCormick's Supreme Salad Seasoning on potatoes or in a pureed, blender potato soup.) Mix in blender. Pour in a bowl.

4) Repeat #2 and #3 with the remaining vegetables. Mix all together in the bowl.

5) If you like frozen peas, thaw some and toss in. They offer color and texture.

6) Heat and eat.

7) You're going to have fun with that blender. Just remember: never put HOT items in the blender unless you want to clean up the explosion that will ensue off yourself, counters and walls--and the animals, who are always in the kitchen when you are cooking!
