I'm no scientific expert, but I'd say that the water's okay. I mean, it will get hot, but other than that I'm pretty sure nothing bad happens. Supposedly, the hot water bottle will release chemicals into the water, but unless you drink vast amounts of water in hot plastic bottles, you will be fine.
