im looking to buy a brita water filter for my kitchen sink, i dont know a whole lot about them and was wondering if it was worth the money? if so, how often do you change the filter??

Yes, very much worth it. We have one, the filters last a long time. I will have to dig out the manual to see how often to change.
It is like bottled water on demand. Save a few of the empty bottles, the better ones, and fill from the Brita. Don't fill too full, throw them in the freezer and you will have iced bottle water on demand. Just grab and go.
It is well worth it.
We also have a Brita water pitcher my fiance carries with her to work. She is a caregiver and she can filter any water anywhere.
