Starbucks Cappuccino?!

Question:

Starbucks Cappuccino?

Okay...I'm confused.
The menu at Starbucks, under ESPRESSO says that all drinks can be served "HOT or ICED" Cappuccino is listed UNDER Espresso.

I ALWAYS order an Iced Cappuccino...50% of the time the person there says "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE, WE CAN'T MAKE THAT" and the other 50% of the time, they make it without a word.

I've ordered an Iced Cappuccino at other places, and at Starbucks...so why do some Starbucks' baristas insist that it isn't possible?

Please explain. :)

I understand the steaming thing...so then why is it ON THE MENU as an item that can be iced? And why not just do it with the foam and throw it over some ice anyway?

Answers:

Because the people who make it for you are doing it just to make you happy or they dont know what a real cappucino is. The actual Starbucks (and European - where it orginated)cappucino calls for shots of espresso topped by foamed milk. The reason it cant be iced is the only way to foam milk is to steam it. A true cap has mostly foam and espresso nothing else.
