Perk coffee perkulating brew, why no more?!

Question:

Perk coffee perkulating brew, why no more?

We recently moved and when unpacking, I found my Grandfather's old perk brewing coffee pot from the 1950s. I thought I would give it a try. I was amazed. I put fresh grounds in the top, filled it with water, plugged it in and in 3 minutes, I had the best tasting brewed coffee I've ever had.

Why don't we still make coffee this way? This old perk pot brewed it super fast and was great!

Answers:

Sounds like you're talking about a Farberware pot They're still around. Lots of people still use them. Myself I use a real perk pot. You use it on top of the stove to boil. Its even better than the farberware. I bought mine from Coleman company. They make camping gear. It takes a bit longer (its a 14 cup so it's about 15 min to boil, then 10 minutes once its started to perk) but its absolutely great! And the best part is the whole house smells like fresh coffee!
