MAJOR problems with milk!?!

Question:

MAJOR problems with milk!?

I have some difficulties tolerating milk. I can drink milk plain out of the jug any time I want to, sans complications. However, whenever I mix the milk with anything (in a shake or even over cereal) I become very ill. I can eat ice cream, but not fruit ice cream. Chocolate or other flavors are fine. My stomach becomes very sour, and I have wicked flatulence and diarrhea whenever I have milk mixed with other things. It isn't the freshness of the milk, either. I throw out milk about a day before the Sell By date, if it lasts that long. Normal milk (on its own) is fine, and tastes great, but I just can't tolerate it mixed with other things. PLEASE HELP! Serious answers only, please!

I'm not lactose intolerant, because I can drink milk plain all day long. I could eat cheese, but I don't like it. Yogurt is fine, too. The only problem I have is over cereal, in a shake or smoothie, or with fruit. Other than that, I'm fine.

Ugh. There is NO WAY I am going back to soy. Besides, I am allergic to that as well. I was on soy formula as an infant but had to breastfeed because I couldn't take soy. Rice milk tastes nasty, too. Good old moo juice is fine, as long as it is plain.

Answers:

I have a milk allergy too.

I can have dairy, but there's a limit before I get that sick feeling. I can barely finish a bowl of ice cream or I'll feel sick. I don't drink white milk (don't like it..) but I do drink chocolate milk and I can barely drink a glass of it before I get sick. Cheese is fine though..could eat it all day without getting sick.

You have the same problem as I do--you're only allergic to milk when it's in certain textures.
