Why don't we have sweet tea here in the west (US)?!

Question:

Why don't we have sweet tea here in the west (US)?

I fell in love with this drink while spending time in th south. Why don't they offer it in restaurants here?

Answers:

Sweet tea is more popular in the Southeast than any other region of the United States.

The only thing I can suggest to make your own sweet tea is to ask for hot tea, if available, a glass of ice, and use several of the sugar packets found on your table. Mix the sugar in with the hot tea until it is to your desired sweetness, then pour over the ice. Voila, instant sweet tea.

If you wish to make your own sweet tea at home, brew in a medium saucepan about four to six tea bags in a quart of water, add between one to two cups of sugar to a gallon-sized pitcher, pour the brewed tea in the pitcher, stir well, then add cold water and ice.
