Answers:

I am a former chef and just adore Chai, when I go to my favorite Indian restaurant I always finish my meal with a cup.

While the first repondant has the ideal, she failed to mention the spices like cinnimon, cloves, fennel seed and I use both black and green cardoman seeds, what I do is at the dollar discount stores, I buy a yard of cheesecloth, then pick up my spices at a Bulk food store, then get a box of loose tea leaves from the grocery store.

I mix the spices together, I have 2 coffee grinders one just for spices, I pulse them 4-6 times only break them up not to pulverize them, use a good heaping teaspoon of tea and 1/2 teaspoon of the pice mix, and make lttle bundles and tie them with kitchen twine.

We I brew a cup, I take a full cup of water, some regular Carnation Milk, heat it in a pot with a sweetener, my choice is Indian Palm sugar called "Jaggery", but plain old sugar or sweetener is fine, bring it to the boil and then drop in the bag, let it steep for 5 minutes, rewarm it and them pour it into my Chai Glass, I got it when I worked in Singapore, but a nice cup or mug is fine. These sachets last for months in a sealed container, I kept an old tea cannister for mine, but a plastic bag is fine, ZipLok is best
