Use a filter when using a coffee maker to make tea?
i'm in college, so i'm improvising and using a coffee maker to make tea...other people do it so i know it works, lol! anyways, i'm just going to put the tea bags into the container thing on top where the filter and coffee grounds would go, but should i use a filter or not?

No you dont need a coffee filter, the tea bags themselves are filters.
