sorry i just read my question over again what i meant was when you by de caffinated coffee from the shop how is it that it has no caffene in the coffee is it removed if so how

Paul Ding had it mostly right. However, he neglected to mention water decaffeination. You can read all about how it is done here http://www.swisswater.com/decaf/process... Essentially, it is a chemical free process, where the caffeine and the flavor particles are removed, then only the flavor particles are put back in. The web site I just mentioned has a really cool video on the page that explains it really well.
