If coke and pepsi took out the food coloring in their products, would they taste different?

pepsi did it and it took them a long time to get it right. then they had a clear product. was hot for a while but the general public just didnt like it as much.was just a passing fad. yes even though thy tried to match the flavor perfectly you still felt differently about the product. i had lots of people say if they closed their eyes it seemed about the same. but for some reason they couldnt get use to it as a l clear product and it just wasnt as good to them as the way they were use to.
the carmel coloring may have a small enough taste to it that even if they try to fake it it wont be the same. yes both answers.. pepsi did it, it failed.. coke knows better than to go the route of the big new coke fiasco that happened... man did they ever mess up there................. get a full can or bottle of crystal coke and try it yourself ..oops its probably no good by now the items loose there fizz and eat holes in the cans in less than a year usually.
