Question:

Why do American's always drink their coffee black?

Or at least it seems that way from the tv/movies.

Black filter coffee is minging. (US translation; yuck)

Answers: Movies are fiction, keep that in mind next time you watch one.

Coffee began as a sweetened drink, but the American cowboy needed to appear tough and drink it black. Personal preference thats the way they huh they huh they like it...lol becuase they want disgusting smelly coffee breath No cows left. All killed by friendly fire. They dont. actually we always put cream n sugar very seldom you see straight black coffee Not all Americans take their coffee black. From what I see in the movies they mostly say cream & sugar. I like it black though. I'm American and I drink mine with lots of flavored creamer like french vanilla or hazelnut. Black coffee is just nasty. Because drinking something thats meant for a baby cow and it came from udders?? They are not the only ones us brits drink it that way as well !!!! That's a very stilted thought.

Not all American's drink their coffee black - most use at least sugar, and I use both milk and sugar. While it may be depicted in a few movies, very seldom do you see people drinking it that way. I drink mine with cream and sugar, the only people I know who drink it black is my grandmother and her friends! Most people don't, I mean look at Starbucks, they load that up with cream and sugar. I don't mind black coffee, but I'd rather is with cream & sugar. In movies it's easier to just put black coffee in a cup then to actually take the time to make it. Can't take American movies & TV shows literally just as we can't do so with UK, Canadian, etc. I dont know thats nasty!! prob saving on the milk for the cast when they actually drink them on their breaks! lol
