Starbucks question about the Green Tea Frap.......please?!

Question:

Starbucks question about the Green Tea Frap.......please?

Is the Green tea Frappacino called a Tazo Green tea frap? I know that green tea powder (matcha) is used to make this drink, but Tazo does not sell (per the website) this green tea powder. Why is it called a Tazo Green tea frap when the green tea isn't even Tazo. Or is it? Thanks

Answers: Yes, the matcha powder that we use to make the green tea frappuccino does come from the tazo tea company. i guess they are only promoting this powder for starbucks drinks. there are some other products that they sell to starbucks that are unavailable to customers for buying directly from them.

working @ starbucks yeah it is called Tazo Green tea Frap. but i dont know the answer to the second part of your question. sorry! lol I know Starbucks sells Tazo tea, but I don't recall the green tea frap being called a Tazo green tea frap. I don't think it is actually made with tazo tea, though I could be wrong as it is possible Starbucks could have some sort of agreenment to get the green tea powder from Tazo even if Tazo doesn't calaim to sell it. I would just ask your local Barista! I think its called a latte rather than a frap.

but in terms of Tazo, they DO sell the matcha itself.
Maybe they are just a distributor since the process and use of matcha is actually all part of a old and current japanese ritual.
And its possible that Tazo is a middle-man for the matcha, and as a benefit Starbucks puts their name on it.
But either way, Tazo DOES sell cans of matcha. Whether its produced by them is the question.
