Does Diet Coke freeze at a higher temperature than regular Coke?!

Question:

Does Diet Coke freeze at a higher temperature than regular Coke?

I often mix a can of Diet Coke and regular Coke from the vending machine at work, and the Diet Coke often has a frozen clump leftover inside that the regular Coke doesn't.

Answers: This is really a clever observation. And no you are not seeing things. The diet coke freezes first because it has less soluble solids in it (no sugar or HFCS). You could look at it in a way as if the reg coke contain some antifreeze which the diet coke does not because it is artificially sweetened.
PhD Food Chemistry and Nutrition freezing is freezing.. the temperature is the same.

It something to do with the difference between the diet and regular coke, less carbonated, more water..???

good question.
