Does coffee really stunt ur growth?!

Question:

Does coffee really stunt ur growth?

i mean having it like once every two weeks, or even farther apart like every three weeks.

Answers: In short, NO! : )

Here are the facts:
As far as caffeine stunting ones growth, this is a MYTH!! Scientists have had many concerns about this possible side effect, but thus far there has not been any research to support it. It is important to know that caffeine can have many other adverse effects on your health if consumed in higher doses. Caffeine can cause anxiety, headaches, jitters, sleep interference and contribute to some heart problems. This substance is a drug and like most stimulants it can be addictive. Once addicted, there are withdrawal symptoms to deal with such as severe headaches, temporary depression and irritability. You might have thought that caffeine was just perking you up, but it may also be playing with your attitude as well. Athletes should pay close attention to how much caffeine they consume, as well as any other person.

Caffeine has a dehydrating effect on the bodys cells (making them lose water), but at the same time causes your body to urinate. This two-fold mechanism causes rapid water loss from the body. It will also cause athletes to have sore muscles and delayed recovery time.

: ) Good luck! : ) The good news, is that I haven't been able to find a single study saying caffeine (coffee) stunts your growth. The bad news is that I can't find a single study saying it doesn't stunt your growth, either. Although most dispensers of health advice think the danger is a myth, you do find a few zealots intimating that caffeine is an insidious evil. It's tempting to dismiss such views as alarmist, but the truth is we don't have enough hard evidence to rule out much of anything. no i dont think so..

my dad is a regular coffee drinker like more than one cup a day and so since i was three ive been having a little bit of coffee and now i have it like maybe a cup a week so ive been pretty esposed to it and im 5'8" at 14 years old. no... its just a nold wise tale :]
ppl only say that because they want kids to drink milk and things w. calories instead in my case I used to drink 6 cups a day for many years until I got a kidney stone. Doctor told me pattern he saw between too much coffee, not enough water, and kidney stones. ouch. There's no scientific proof of coffee stunting growth. It does however act as a diuretic and leaches calcium from bones and flushes it out of the body. This is especially not good in kids and elderly people. At a couple times a month, there should be no health risks for you though. Be careful of caffeine, it's extremely addictive. If you need it for an energy boost, try green tea instead, which has less caffeine and more health benefits.
