u don't sharpen it it is ink which u can't sharpen unless it is a special pen or somethimg like that

You can't sharpen a pen, it has ink. Neither can you sharpen a lead pencil since it is mechanical. They invented a sharp, fine-pointed pen and I am guessing this to be exactly what you are really meaning. I know medium-point pens aren't always the best thing to write with, since their point isn't sharp. Just invest in getting sharp, fine-point pens. They aren't # 2 pencils, which can be sharpened. The only pen I know of that you can sharpen is a straight pin or safety pin.

They have pin cushions at Wal-mart or sewing departments with a little extra "thingy" connected to it.

You stick the tip of the pin in it several times to sharpen the tip of the pin if it has become dull.

When pinning a pattern to fabric a dull pin is difficult to stick through the patteren and fabric to hold the pattern to cut it out or hold the fabric together to sew.
