its kind of school project

# Go outside to the middle of a field or a huge lawn. Bring a roll or box of Mentos (candy mints) and a 2-liter bottle of soda. Either diet or regular soda will work for this experiment, but diet soda erupts higher and is less sticky when you're cleaning it up.
# Open the bottle of soda carefully. Position the bottle on the ground so that it will not tip over.
# Unwrap the whole roll of Mentos. The goal is to drop all of the Mentos into the bottle of soda at the same time (which is trickier than it sounds). One method for doing this is to roll a piece of paper into a tube (like a cardboard toilet paper roll) just big enough to hold the loose Mentos. Put a card under the roll and on top of the bottle top, so you can just pull off the card and the candies will all drop in at once.

# Warn the spectators to stand back.

Drop all of the Mentos into the bottle at the same time and then move out of the way as fast as you can.
#
Watch the soda eruption.
Actually i think that they just made it up that it would literally explode like a bomb but a small one but that it would make you barf if you combined them but you should check it out first. And i think it's mentos and pepsi.
Nah. Try coke and alka-seltzer. It will erupt like 20 inches!!!
PEPSI,AND MENTOS
OK, here is the reference in URBAN LEGENDS AND MYTHS...just because it does it that way in the open air does not mean that your body will do the same thing. You have acids in your stomach that will counter balance the reaction. If anything you might get a bad case of gas! Here check out the SNOPES reference. Here is a video of the experiment itself
http://eepybird.com/dcm1.html (and it is all done with Mentos and bottles of coke!!)

So is it dangerous to drink soda and eat Mentos? Well, a lot of the fizz goes away as you drink. Then when bubbles are released in your stomach, your stomach can expand a bit, and it also has ways of releasing excess pressure. Do not, repeat, do not be stupid and test the limits of your stomach. Don't even think about it.
There are a thousand web references to coke/pepsi/rc and Mentos.

Check those out. They're legit. It really does shoot many-feet into the sky.

Don't try this in your stomach until you've seen the online-vids.

If you decide to try it internally - you're going to suffer a lot. Don't be far from emergency care.

And, above all, have fun.
try pepsi and mentos. Try to use cocacola and not pepsi. When I tried mine with Pepsi, it only fizzed alittle and overflowed. Try it out. My friend says it works perfectlyt fith coke. maybe it was the year-old mentos's fault that had such a bad reaction. search it on You tube. I found some awesome clips. Learn some ideas. Next idea, Potato Canon!
Diet Coke and Mentos. No other brands. Accept no substitutions. This is why they are market giants.
