Most of Latin America has Nestle and Maxwell House brands, there either made there or imported from the US or Europe, it is no different than here.

I buy alot of products from a Latin America grocery store here in Toronto and have seen a number of different ones from there, Costa Rica and Panama.

It tasted the same as anything you can buy here or in the US, nothing much of a change, the local brands and even Goya hasa exported brand is there same, when it comes to fresh brewed it is the same, a slight bit more of a stronger flavour, but it is fresher, they grow alot of coffee in there country.
Instant coffee is made not grown. Just like there are no decafinated coffee trees. Regular old coffee beans are processed to the point that they will dissolve in hot water. In fact very little of the product in an instant coffee jar is actually coffee. It is primarily very fine talc powder that has been soaked in coffee and will dissolve in hot water.

The folks that make instant coffee do not, for obvious reasons, use the top line beans to make their beverage.
