Would you rather have pure sugar or High fructose corn syrup in your sodas and drinks?!

Question: Here in California you can get Coke made in Mexico with real cane sugar. I think it tastes a lot better, but that's because I grew up with it that way so the taste is kind of nostalgic. Other Mexican soft drinks, Jarritos and Penafiel, also have cane sugar.

The reason most soft drinks made in the US use HFCS has more to do with politics than taste. Corn syrup is much cheaper because of huge subsidies from the govt. If we were really going to be practical, we'd use cane sugar, and we'd buy it from Cuba!

Personally I don't drink sugary soft drinks, I drink the diet stuff. All that sugar dumping into your blood all at once is not good for you. The popularity of soda in the US is one reason we have such a high incidence of type 2 diabetes!

well i dont drink sodas(only when i go to restaurants sometimes), but if i did have a soda company, i would put pure sugar because its a lot better than processed fake sugar.
I drink diet, which is the worst health-wise because of all the chemicals. Still, I think that real sugar tastes better and it's much less processed than corn syrup. That's why European Coke and Kosher coke taste so much better.
High fructose corn syrup is a lot worse for the body than real sugar... even plain corn syrup is better than what they do to it to make it into "high fructose" corn syrup.

HFCS is not just in sodas and drinks either... look at labels of just about any packaged food. . . ugh.

If you're not old enough to remember original Coke and how much better it tasted that what's available now, try a *glass bottle* of Coke when you go to a Mexican restaurant or another country, or buy "kosher" coke during Passover at a deli... big difference!
