How does a Thermos Flask know when to keep something hot or cold.?!


Question: Clever things Thermos Flasks, how do they know when to keep something hot or cold, you pour in Hot Coffee, Hot Tea or Hot Soup and it keeps it hot, you pour in Iced Tea, Iced Drinks and it keeps it cold, does it never make a mistake and make the hot stuff cool and the cool stuff hot, yes clever things Thermos Flasks.

in the case that you're not putting us all on -
what it does it maintain the temperature of whatever you put into it for a certain amount of time.
LOL.. they don't have a thought process. It's all in the technology of the insulated container. More of a scientific question if you really want details. I could look it up and put it all here. I could even go to the USPTO (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office) site and get all the detail you could possibly want (and more detail you don't want). But I think that's more info. than should be expcted and a Food & Drink category.
I think the term derives from a thermol layer, or vaccum sealed.
So if you put something hot in a steel container it's going to stay hot, cold will keep cold.
Actually it is not cleaver at all. It holds a vacuum which is resistant to temperature change. If it is cold, it keeps it cold longer than sitting out, and vice-versa for warm.
