My husband likes his coffee strong!?!
Answers: he buys this coffee at the grocery store that u grind urself. well, he says it is not strong enough and i fill the basket with about 8 cups of water! does anyone know how to make jet fuel coffee? already tried espresso, he prefers the automatic drip kind!

The difference between good coffee and regular coffee is that you can make good coffee really strong. Regular coffee tastes brackish if you make it strong. So 'gourmet' beans are a good idea, as is grinding just before brewing.
Have you tried a French press? That's what we use. My sweetie likes it weaker than I do so she just adds some hot water to hers. Most drip machines don't get the water hot enough, plus the filter contributes a flavor of its own.

You have a coffee grinder, right? If not, that is the problem.
For a 10-12 cup maker you need 2 slightly heaping TABLESPOONS of coffee for REGULAR. For strong coffee add a third Tablespoon. Then, if not strong enough, add a 4th. Do it gradually. If might be the type of coffee is mild, he may need a stronger type. Now-a-days they have words on the label to describe the coffee, mild, medium, or bold. Get a bold coffee. Columbian coffee is the best tasting bold coffee I have had. I also like coffees that are Breakfast blends, usually they say medium but you can make them strong without making them bitter.
