What's the recipe for sun tea?!
Answers: My mother's best friend in Fla made it the best I've ever tasted
ahh a southern classic. make sweet tea like usual and ( 2 tea bags, 4 cups boiling water, 1 1/2 cups sugar) let the tea brew in the water 5-10 min then pull it out. pour into a container, add sugar, add cold water and fill to the top of the container ( usually a gallon container) cover or put the lid on and set it out side in the sun direct way for about 4- 6 hrs. i know its awsome ive not had any in forever tho. hope i helped
You fill up the glass bottle with water and put in the tea bages, set it to set the whole day and it ready
get a gallon jar put your tea bags in it & leave out in the hot sun all day!vwallah you have sun tea!!!
Put 4 to 6 tea bags into a clean 2 quart glass container. Fill with water and cap. Place outside where the sunlight can strike the container for about 3 to 5 hours. Move the container if necessary to keep it in the sun. When the tea has reached its desired strength, remove from sun and put it in the refrigerator. You may or may not want to remove the tea bags at this point. I usually don't.
The tea will probably taste more mellow than what you are used to from using boiling water. The slow seeping has a way of bringing out a slightly different flavor from the tea. Also, because you didn't use boiling water, you should refrigerate the tea and drink it up pretty quickly - a day or two. It will not keep as well as iced tea made from boiling water.
I usually make sun tea with various forms of herbal tea. Sometimes you can put in a few sprigs of fresh mint as well.
Have a gallon jar filled with water, dangle 4 tea bags in the water, set out in the sun and let it brew. If you want southern tea/sweetened tea, then put in the sugar and let it brew.
Actually sun tea can be made without the sun.Just put together hot tap water and tea bags. Cover and let stand for several hours.
Have done this for many years with great success.
Glad you asked.
